Born in San Gonzalo, Vinicius began his professional career at Flamengo, where he made his debut in 2017 at the age of 16. A few weeks later, Vinicius faced the challenge of moving to Real Madrid, for whom he signed in a nationwide report for the U-18 player a deal worth 191 million reais (forty-five million euros), which took effect after his 18th birthday.

Early career

Vinicius Jr.'s football career began in 2006, while his father took him to work in the Flamengo Department, in the Mutua community, in San Gonzalo, where he lived. His membership file identified him as a left lower back.
Hailing from a poor Afro-Brazilian family, Vinicius moved to live in Abolisan with his uncle Ulysses to reduce the space to Niño do Urubu ("Vulture's Nest"). He began to receive financial assistance from Flamengo, as well as assistance from entrepreneurs.
Between 2007 and 2010, Vinicius attended futsal classes at the Flamengo School in San Gonzalo on Canto do Rio, a famous club located in the center of Niteroi.
In 2009, when Vinicius was 9 years old, he passed the futsal test for Flamengo. The membership claimed his abilities, but given his younger age, he turned into a supplicant to return the following year. However, he decided that he wanted to play football, not futsal, and did not return. In August 2010, Vinicius passed his football tests at Flamengo.

Playing style

Vinicius Junior with Real Madrid in 2018
Shortly after his arrival at Real Madrid in July 2018, ESPN journalist Dermot Corrigan identified Vinicius as "an energetic left-winger or 2nd striker". El Mundo described him as "A participant who is constantly tormented, balancing on the threshold, on that invisible line between genius and more. The judgment is always hanging over him, the winger is unable to get his feet and toes to pass in unison, however, he does not give up in any way, and this can be superlatively exceptional." A flexible player, despite being usually placed on the left flank, he is able to play anywhere along the front line and is also used in the center or in the center. With explosive acceleration and top-notch pace, agility, balance, technique, ability, dribbling ability, and close control at speed, as well as tremendous energy, physical strength, and cunning on the ball, despite his narrow build, he is recognized for his movement, ability to run defensively, quickly change the trajectory and beat the fighters alone on the same conditions at the same time as the possession of the ball. Is considered a promising young player, he is considered a diminutive, dynamic, wise, hard-working, and agile winger with a low center of gravity, in addition to dazzling passing and knowledge. Moreover, he is known for his eye for the very last ball and his ability to offer assists to teammates.; despite the fact that he is also able to score dreams himself, his capture and goalscoring were cited by experts as areas in need of development. In June 2017, Vinicius was ranked 39th in The Telegraph's list of the world's greatest under-21 players. He was the easiest member playing in South America at the time to appear on the list.
In November 2018, former Argentina global frontman Jose Luis Calderon credited Vinicius with " the preferred enthusiasm, his ability to create things, the joy and true vibes he conveys, his speed, the fact that he is exceptional, and the truth that he is bold. To sum up, he has a spark that can be used by a team that has been simplified in recent years."

Outside of football

On September 3, 2019, Vinicius posted his first YouTube video on his channel "Vini Jr". He describes his channel as " Football, intimacy, family, everything first-class in a completely unique way-irreverent and fun, like Viney himself. Every week there can be a video and a lot of unique content." It publishes films related to games and football.
On October 8, 2020, he posted brand new documents on his personal Instagram called "Vini For Real". A total of eight episodes were launched, each highlighting the bankruptcy of his lifestyle, starting with how he grew up in the early days of Flamengo, and finally, to the one, he is now in at Real Madrid.
